Senior Engineer – Railway Infrastructure

£30000 – £50000/annum

Job Description

A major rail civil engineering consultancy in Brighouse is seeking a Senior Engineer. In this role you will be working with the head of engineering and maintenance to provide infrastructure expertise and you will control all aspects of the standards, processes and procedures.

Main Duties:

Exercise due care and diligence in all aspects of engineering design and detailing.
Preparation of railway technical approval submissions (Forms 001, 2 and 3 in accordance with NR/L2/CIV/003) and in accordance with Network Rail Company Standards.
Preparation of civil and structural engineering designs using manual calculations and industry standard software.
Overseeing the preparation of drawings by technicians.
Attending site to undertake surveys and inspections.
Preparation of structural reports on buildings and other structures.
Liaise and communicate with clients and external agencies i.e. Environment Agency, Regional Highway Authorities and Sewerage authorities etc.
Maintain professional development.
Control the programmed performance of projects.

Essential Skills

Conversant with Network Rail Company Standards and Railway Group Standards.
Working knowledge of relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.
Ability to use industry standard computer software TEDDS, Fasttrack Building Designer, S-Frame.

Academic or Training Requirements

Degree in an appropriate ‘built environment’ discipline and working towards membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers, or similar learned society/professional body.
