Engineering Director (MD Designate)

£50000 – £60000/annum

We are looking for a senior Manager or Director for a newly formed position with the sole intention of taking over the direction and growth of the company as the new Managing Director. The successful candidate must either have an existing client base that he/she can bring to the company, or at least be an Engineer who feels comfortable and capable of developing their own.  Along with the existing Director, you will also take responsibility for the running and management of a 20 strong office.

Our client is a prestigious company that has established a reputation with a variety of projects including

  • Commercial (multi Storey offices and retail units, to more specialised buildings like research and development facilities)
  • Education
  • Industrial
  • Healthcare
  • Residential

These structures can be some smaller based projects, but they also work on work of up to £40-£50 million pounds, so their Engineers have great variety in their scope of work.. Due to the recent retirement of a Director in their Coventry office, a requirement for either a Director, or a Designate Director (depending on experience of candidate), has arisen in their office.

Essentially, we are interested in someone who is able to jump straight into the role, and bring with him an existing client database. Someone with management experience, and already able to run an office. This person would join the company as a Director.

Alternatively, we may recruit a, less experienced Engineer (at least, from a management/client development basis) who is nonetheless Chartered, and ideally has at least ten years’ experience working on similar projects/specialities as they are. This person would become a ‘Director Designate’, with a clear path through to a Director position.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a well-established firm with high-quality contracts and business relationships, and quickly progress to a Director level within the business.
